My Name Is Alex

Alex at the Cape!I was born in 1985 near Los Angeles and grew up in a comfy, little suburb with lots of oak trees and no chain businesses, except for Starbucks, which is freaking everywhere. I’ve lived on the East Coast since I was eighteen and think the weather and food here generally pale in comparison.

I dance, sing (in the car and obnoxiously loud), play the French horn not very well, design for the Web, and write code. I am a graduate student at Cornell University, a practitioner of random handstands, a lover of cheap food (hooray for hole-in-the-wall burrito joints!), an advocate of evolutionary psychology, tall, Chinese but not really, and way too picky about what I wear.

Most of the stuff that appears on this site is my own and doesn’t necessarily reflect the opinions of those people or organizations with which I may be associated.

Above is a photo of me in the middle of the ocean, scoping out the horizon as the European explorers once did centuries ago, except that I seem to be lacking a boat.
